Accountability

Written in 2014

The state of being accountable, liable, or answerable.

Let’s face it, we all have that one deep dark sin secret that we’re ashamed to tell, or get caught with. At times we feel we won’t ever get caught. So we do it in our room with the doors locked or when no one’s home, or whatever the case may be. Also, we either have that one sin that isn’t a secret but, it is a daily struggle.

My main purpose for this blog post is to give you a creative idea about having accountability when facing temptation. Also, for you to build a stronger spiritual relationship with an accountability partner.

What do you mean about having an accountability partner?

Example: Let’s say my struggle is gossiping. And I start talking trash or spreading lies about my ex best friend. It is my accountability partner’s responsibility to tell me to shut up and back it up with a Scripture, of course in an encouraging way.

Psalms 34:13, Then keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.

Find an accountability partner that you can trust, you know, can encourage you to live holy, will walk with you in your time of struggle and will ultimately bring you closer to Christ. Understand that your accountability partner can only do so much, at the end of the day it is your choice to choose to continue walking with Christ. By praying, reading the word daily, confessing your sins and dying to your flesh.

You are probably saying to yourself. I am too embarrassed, I don’t want to be judgmental, I have trust issues. Don’t let your pride or fear get in your way of your freedom. Remember, there is always a consequence for your sins. James 5:16, Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

One of my personal favorite verses that honestly helps me. If I didn’t confess to one of my leaders back when I was living in Lakeland, about my sin watching porn, it would’ve been my struggle till this day. Trust me when I say I was embarrassed, too ashamed to confess. But, I wanted God more than porn. I remember the scripture James 5:16 and so I acted on it.

My prayer for all of my readers:
Father, I pray over all of my readers’ hearts. I pray you will purify their mind and body. And of the Holy Spirit to convict their heart so they will turn away from the sin that is keeping them from your Kingdom in Heaven. Father, give them strength to walk away from temptation and give them motivation to seek you more. Let them be accountable for their own actions and bless them with an accountability partner. In your mighty name I pray. Amen.

Hello my lovely readers, I guess I should do a quick bio about me. Well, for one I am not your average woman I make living Holy look fun. Yes! I am a believer but, I AM NOT PERFECT nor do I pretend to be. I love my city Kissimmee, Florida was raised here all my life I rep it like I do with my nationality, Haitian-American. Don't like long walks on the beach because Florida is too hot and the birds here are mean, but, I enjoy watching the sunrise on my rooftop. My two favorite things that God created are the Moon and Stars, notice I didn't say humans? I am totally kidding, my love for people is deeper than my dimples. I have many passions one of them is doing missionary work, I enjoy the company of people from different cultures; I also admire photographing nature places I've traveled too and priceless moments. On July 28, 1992 was the best day that ever happens to my mother that is why she named me after her, Myriam Norgaisse. Thanks mother now I have to live the rest of my life getting our mail mixed up. Well, that was somewhat of a short bio. Enjoy my blog & more.
